Forceware drivers pushed, pulled

Whining Windows users left in the lurch
Monday, 2 July 2007, 11:33
NVIDIA HAS PULLED its latest driver update for Vista and XP users after a multitude of complaints.

ForceWare 162.15 landed on Tuesday for Windows XP, but was pulled off the Nzone site on Friday. A message on Nzone says that "Due to a problem with the v162.15 Windows XP and Windows XP 64-bit Beta drivers, they have been removed for download. We will be replacing these drivers with new fixed drivers shortly." Monday morning, and loyal Green Goblins are still waiting.

Vista drivers are still only at 158.45, after the 162.15 Vista drivers were scuppered before they even hit download.

Whilst the replacement drivers are touted to arrive shortly, there's still no sign of them - although a flurry of conference calls and emails inside GraphZilla's worldwide offices suggests that something is happening.

For now, gamers will have to go and use the official drivers, currently at version 158.24 for Vista and 158.22 for XP. Boooooooring. ยต
