PSST! Wanna see a picture ov ze Dothan? hisses a shady-looking Frenchman in a raincoat, over here. Eh, Pascal, we cry, is that lump of what looks like molten solder what all the fuss is about? But monsieur, he says, look at ze CPU-Z, eet doesn't know eet's a Dothan, can't see eets cache and thinks eet's a P6. Sigh.

Sudhian, meanwhile has thrown its two-bob's worth into the debate over the merits of Opteron (and Barton) as compared to Intel's Xeon. It's long. it's dull and it's here. Their preference ends up being slighly Xeon-flavoured.

GamePC compares a 3.4 GHz Pentium 4 to the P4EE and Athlon64 FX over here. Seems there could be some life left in Northwood after all.

The Soyo SY-CK8 Dragon Plus for the Athlon 64 wanders into focus at HotHardware. Does this nForce3 150 offering give VIA's K8T800 a run for its money? They wonder.

Over at Bjorn 3D they take a look at MSI's GeForce FX 5700 Ultra. The fact, they say, that the 5700U is a scaled-down 5950 Ultra and not 'hopped up' 5600 is a very good thing. The rest is here.

In Ohl's Place there's some fiddlings a-going ohn with Thermalright's pretty, triple heat-pipe SP97. Nice presentation here.

The Madshrimps test Corsairs fastest DDR slices, the Twin-X4400 (DDR550) over here.

More cooling at BigBruin, with a look at the Evercool Extended Cooling System here.

The SilverStone Technology Temjin TJ-01 Mid-Tower case gets pulled apart at 3Dxtreme here.

Lost? HardwareHell has a look at the Delorme Earthmate GPS System, which in a storm, with a truck up yer arris and the map in the glove compartment they reckon will get you home in one bit. ยต
