BIRMINGHAM Airport should really check its use of stock photographs when it creates its annual report.
While some companies use pictures of the Everywhere Girl for almost everything, the marketing bunnies at Birmingham Airport thought it had come up with a winner when they found an X-Ray snap of a suitcase in stock photography.
Without engaging brain they installed it into page 11 of the PDF of its annual report as an example of how seriously airport security takes its job.
However as a sharp eyed reader pointed out, it seems that the Xray picture
shows a little more than a meat pie and a copy of Playboy. While we accept that
people do take vibrating toys onto airplanes, after all you are never sure what
you are going to need to do on a long flight, it is unusual to see one in an
annual report.
Unless the company has good vibrations about the future, we guess. µ
This was news 3 weeks ago was it not?
Note that they have removed the entire page 11 from the pdf.
I just downloaded it and page 11 is still there and it still contains the same image.
This article brings back funny memories of the amazing movie Fight Club!
There's copy then there's "found this well trodden story under the mat" copy.
I rang their press office today and they told me that a decision had been made NOT to withdraw the report.

I didn't ask them about the other picture of the boys with bikes, where one of them is giving The Finger to the camera.
Did birmingham move to the US? Or what's the issue here? Surely we are adult enough in the EU to handle this.
