Syncyourmail uses screaming technology

Synchronica tech behind new email service

A CURIOUS new service offered by Syncyourmail.com has caught the INQ's eye. Especially when it became obvious that despite being Danish, it's based on technology developed by UK listed Synchronica.

What Syncyourmail.com offers is a flat rate fee - € 40 ($59) – for a year's worth on synchronising all the data held on your smartphone.

Synchronica made the headlines recently because its software was one of the first offerings to work with the infamous Apple Iphone. But in reality, the software – and therefore Syncyourmail – works with virtually any leading smartphone.

Everything from Windows Mobile down to Nokias and Sony Ericsson's. Mainly because it doesn't require client software to be downloaded to the handset.

Synchronica's founder, Carsten Brinkschulte, recently blogged about the advantages of a standard called Lemonade IMAP Idle. Basically this is a means of sending push emails to regular phones without any fancy stuff being required in the handset.
Naturally Syncyourmail supports Lemonade.

The INQ isn't sure whether the deal between the two companies is the unannounced big contract for Synchronica rumoured by the Current Bun but being named as a Top Six share tip can't have done the company any harm.

Incidentally, if the Synchronica does ring any bells it should cause a few screams. Yes, Synchronica invented the famous screaming phone capability aimed at deterring handset thieves. µ
