Ipod manufacturer gets visit from cops

TAIWANESE FIRM Inventec, which makes handsets and also Apple iPods, was raided by the police amidst allegations of insider trading.

The Taipei Times said the cops raided the firm yesterday and questioned 22 staff about the allegations.

The newspaper said that the Banciao district prosecutor had "reliable information" that senior managers at Inventec manipulated its stock price.

The firm reaps around $3 million from Apple for making the iPod, an estimated 65 per cent of its turnover last year. µ
