AMD Barcelona SSE128 details unfurled

SMART COOKIE Dresdenboy over at Ace's Hardware stumbled across an AMD presentation made at GDC which spells out the firm's plans about SSE 128.

The posting, on the general forum, is here, and it gainsays what we've said before. Sorry 'bout that.

The 37 page AMD PDF presentation is here.

And on page 13 is a pretty picture of the quad core Barcelona with AMD telling us eight core desktop systems will be here in 2007 and the time to multithread is now. Wow. µ
