AMD K9 quad core benchmarked against Intel offerings

ANDREAS STILLER at c't magazine is not given to flights of speculative fancy.

And so if he says as he does that AMD's K9 here will be a quad core baby and performs pretty well, then we're very inclined to believe him.

And when he produces benchmarks of the K9, as he does here, then we at the INQ ain't going to quibble. There's a Google translation of Andreas' interesting words, here.

We particularly like Andreas' description of Netbust architecture as "current swallowing".

It looks as though Intel and AMD are going to keep the world+dog entertained for years to come. Course the K9 is gonna have to compete against an Intel four core Whitefield creature and by then presumably Chipzilla will have all of its famous ducks in some kind of row. µ
