Why isn't the Athlon XP running at 333MHz FSB?

THE FOLK AT Xbit Labs have put together a story on why AMD is being reluctant to whip up its front side bus (FSB) to 333MHz. We don't know why it's being reluctant either.

Still on AMD news, Ace's Hardware reports that the conversion of its Austin fab to flash memory production spells the end of the line for the Durons in Q3 of this year. Still, AMD could always follow the Intel route and rename the current Athlons Durons, and the Clawhammers Athlons, we reckon.

We wondered how Intel's Pentium 4 "Celerons" performed, and according to PC World, it's an iffy chippy.... Oops. It's only got a 128K level two cache, and PC World says: "avoid it".
