Nvidia bruised but ready for its comeback

Hardware roundup

NVIDIA IS ALIVE AND WELL and doing quite nicely, thank you very much. At least that's what Mike Hara has to say in this interview with Penstarsys. For all the rough times that the company has had in the press, we're sure he's right.

David from Hexus is going to keep on calling me names until I put a link to something there and I fancy some peace this weekend. So here's a review of the MSI GNB MAX2-L Granite Bay motherboard on Hexus. It's well worth a read if you're in the market for an Intel based motherboard.

There's a very satisfying article on graphics over at Corante. Pixel Shaders as the death of inventiveness in games. Some would argue that real inventiveness in games hasn't happened since Deus Ex Machina.

Deviant PC has a very shiny looking CoolerMaster case. It's expensive. It uses finger screws. And it's very nice, thank you, according to Alan.

Be prepared for a real good technical read over at X-bit Labs. They've gone into some real depth on SSE instructions in the up and coming Intel Prescott processor. It should keep you busy for half the weekend.

There's a round up on the round up today. AMDMB has gathered together a bunch of 80mm case fans. They've even recorded the sounds that the fans make.

With all the press going to the ATI 9800 Pro it's often easy to forget that cheaper cards can be almost as good. Like the Hercules Prophet 9700 Pro. 3D Velocity gives you the reminder.

Is the character recognition bad or is it the handwriting over at Design Technica? They've been playing with a Logitech io Personal Digital Pen. It's a very funky looking pen that you can use to write on special 'digital paper.' When you've finished writing, you can upload the results from the pen onto your PC.

Living in a finite universe gives us the suspicion that absolutely everything is a limited edition but that doesn't stop there being an Albatron PX845PEV-800 Limited Edition. Apparently it's good enough to get a SubZeroTech Editor's Choice Award. ยต

Up and coming Prescott processor?

"... in the up and coming Intel Prescott processor. ...

I'm going to take a wild guess and say the author meant the up and coming Penryn processor as the Prescott has come and (thankfully) gone.
