FCC orders VoIP to allow snooping

The order is to implement a program called CALEA or Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement on May 14.

Police, the FBI and CIA will be easily able to monitor your voice and text conversations thanks to modifications the comms companies are ordered to stick in place in their part of the network.

Details of what the law will look like can be found here. It is not clear what the rules will make of VoIP outfits that encrypt their communications. µ
