Intel won't upgrade to Vista

Before the first service pack

INQUIRER READER, Paul Otellini takes our advice seriously.

When fellow reader Frank-J. Bebber from Germany suggested back in December that Vista wouldn't be worth buying until after the first 500Mb service pack, Paul scratched his chin in wonderment.

Now, according to a ZDNet blog, the Intel CEO confirmed his firm won't upgrade to Vista until that first service pack is delivered.

Otellini told the Bank of America Technology conference in San Francisco: "I know of no organisation doing an upgrade before SP1."

"Intel isn't upgrading either," he added.

"Consumers will like Vista as they play with it," he thought. It's "closer to the Mac than we've been on the Windows side for a long time." µ
