Apple says XXXX to service “down under”

THE MAKER entertainment gear known as Apple has a strong following in Australia, but does not seem to have got the hang of after sales service if a report by an influential newspaper is to be believed.

The Sydney Morning Herald is running the saga of a bloke called Kevin Acres who runs an online delivery service from the Melbourne suburb of Research.

The power supply on his nice looking Apple iMac G5 blew up a few months back and the nice people at Apple said it would have to be replaced sometime in the future.

Kev was not aware that the Aussie distributors were having a bit of a problem getting G5 power supplies from the US. In fact, it appears that Apple in the US was refusing to hand over any power supplies because they needed them themselves.

The nice people in Aussie Apple told Kev that Apple model of his was blowing up so often in the States, the Americans didn't have enough parts to go around.

Australia just was not a high priority whereas Apple maniacs in the US have the right to get up in arms, incandescently.

So far Kev has been waiting fairly impatiently for four weeks and it does not look likely that he will see one for some time, if ever.

A spokesApple got all humpy with the Sydney Morning Herald. She or he said that Apple checked out the back and had shedloads of spare parts for the iMac G5 i-Sight so didn't know what this joker was whingeing about.

Kev didn't have an i-Sight and the SMH had no idea where Apple got the idea he had. The Apple spokesperson had another look out the back and muttered something about "We're currently working directly with the customer to address his concerns."

Kev has heard diddly squat from Apple PR, and we expect that all the SMH heard was the sound of running footsteps heading into the bush.
