Kingston to sell Intel SSDs
THERE HAVE LONG been whispers of someone major rebranding Intel SSDs, and at this IDF, we found out who it is... Kingston.
If you want SSDs from the blue team, the boys (and girls) from Fountain Valley are going to be the first out of the gate.
They are not very photogenic, but they are fast. Kingston will be offering the entire line, SLC, MLC and every size that Intel does. The drives also have full SMART monitoring capabilities, so if the heads should crash, or the platters start wobbling in odd ways, it will inform you (1).
Couple a few of these with one of Intel's upcoming 3 channel DDR3/1600 HyperX kits for Nehalem, and you will really have something. They even support XMP for the mad tweakers out there, won't that be the combo from hell this non-denominational winter holiday season that neither affirms or denies any particular race, religion, creed or faith. µ
