Intel management undergoes major reshuffle

Kim gets digital home, Don McD gets brands
Thursday, 20 July 2006, 10:01
CHIP FIRM Intel's CEO Paul Otellini has shuffled the leading cards in his management pack as part of the firm's move to restructure.

According to a memo seen by the Wall Street Journal, Eric Kim, who shared a job with Anand Chandrasekher, will now manage Intel's digital home group, while Brit Don McDonald will be VP of corporate brands and marketing, reporting directly to Intel British wonderkid Sean Maloney.

Kim was widely believed to be responsible for the rash of logos that Intel is now using, and for persuading Otellini that the firm needed a brand refresh.

David Perlmutter will head up the mobility group, while Maloney, who shared that job, will head up Intel's important sales and marketing group, which also controls the powerful PR division.

Anand Chandrasekher will concentrate on managing UMPCs and low powered notebook chips.

Bill Siu and Richard Wirt are retiring from Intel. ยต
