Memory market to rebound

Becomes more stable
Wednesday, 26 September 2007, 14:54

MARKET RESEARCH firm Isuppli reckons that memories in the shape of DRAM and NAND flash will make a recovery during the second half of this year.

It couldn't do much worse than it did during the first half.

Isuppli thinks there is a surge in memory IC prices and revenues with a rise of 15 per cent. The erosion of average selling prices is blunted and the holiday season will bring more sales of PCs, it hopes.

It also said that DRAM suppliers increased their production by 94 per cent this year, and that oversupply caused the decline in memory prices, but now they've slowed down and prices are stabilising.

It said revenues for the Dramurai will rise by 20.8 per cent in the third quarter. NAND flash memory prices will increase by 37.5 per cent in the third quarter, it predicted. ยต

Yeah. Right!

This train of thought will most likely become derailed as it becomes the top pick in "Wishful Thinking Story of the Year" award.
