Playboy blackmailed by apologetic internet bloke

Cracker, hacker and shelf-stacker
Monday, 28 June 2004, 17:22
A SHELF STACKING supermarket worker living in Hampshire found himself in more trouble than he bargained for, when the US Secret Service ended up giving him a bell after he blackmailed Playboy for a hundred bucks.

25-year-old computer ubergeek Simon Jones used nerdly knowledge to nick user names and passwords from the huge porn megasites database. According to a Southampton news website, thisissouthhampton.co.uk, Simon told the company he was a member of an elite hacker group, who were looking to gain access to adult servers. He allegedly told them, "Our current account listing runs to be about 21,000 individual compromised accounts and is growing steadily."

The nerdy wannabe-hacker pleaded guilty to blackmail and has been jailed for two years. Apparently, the poor fella' wants to apologise for the trouble and damages he's caused, and "didn't want to compromise playboy."

Full details of the internet blackmail can be found here. ยต
