Sunday, 8 January 2006, 18:16
REMEMBER WHEN WE TOLD you about Samsung and its self proclaimed world's largest plasma? Remember we also put up this picture, please note the wording at the top, before the show opened.

Then, a day later, Panasonic comes out with the world's even largester plasma, a 103 inch monster. It is still the world's largest, a record that has stood for four or so days now. It looks like this, again note the wording.

So, what do you do if are Samsung, and the showcase of your booth is one-upped by an inch? You change the wording.

We at the INQUIRER look forward to next year's 104 inch TVs, and how they will proudly proclaim the vast superiority over the 103 inch yestertech dinosaurs. Those stuck at the 102 inch plateau will spin it as '102 is more than big enough for the average US living room', or 'our focus groups found that 102 is the sweet spot for the average family', but we know the truth. ยต
