YOU TUBE'S mystery video blogger Lonelygirl15 is a kiwi actress paid for by a bunch of independent film makers.

Lonelygirl15's video blog managed to get five minutes of fame on YouTube, as many punters couldn't work out if it was real or not.

Going by the name 'Bree', Lonelygirl15 talks in an American accent about life in a small town, her religious parents and her "study buddy", Daniel. It is all the sort of stuff which makes paint drying appear thrilling. Yet there have been more than 30 installments of the thing.

According to Tom Foremski a former Financial Times journalist who now writes a blog called Silicon Valley Watcher, Lonelygirl 115 is Jessica Rose, a 19-year old actress from Mount Maunganui, New Zealand. She recently moved to Los Angeles/Hollywood area to find work.

Her list of credits included a KFC commercial in 2004 and in a New Zealand short film called Dearly Beloved. he also played the role of Polly in a theatre restaurant production of Fawlty Towers.

The whole thing was a stunt by some independent film makers who want to make such 'real life movies' on the sound basis that if people watch Big Brother they will watch anything. More here. µ
