Guide to Geforce 6800 unlocked

HWZone from Israel checks the PrimeCooler Hypercool IV with Led. I'd never heard of that brand before, but they seem to be a cloner rather than an innovator if photos from HW Zone are to be believed. Good performance but even if they copied Zalman in this case, they cannot match it and you might have to remove your motherboard to install it.

Techniz checks the Mushkin 1GB Dual Channel DDR400 Redline memory modules. These are specially designed components with their own installed heat spreader and are designed to run at very high voltages. They were able to reach DDR516 with a timing of 2-3-2-6.

BoxGods, a new comer to our column, has a comparison between the Gigabyte X800 - passively cooled model - and the BFG 6600GT OC; both cards competing in two different graphic sector. The X800 wins hands down. As the reviewer puts it himself, he couldn't in good conscience recommend any 6600 to someone while knowing that for the same money, they would be much better served by the X800.

Extremetech has yet another review of the Pentium D 820 and the new Pentium 4 670. Intel seems to be pushing forward the concept of really affordable dual core CPU. Hmmm. Will DC Celerons come in 2007? The comparison include both culprits, a PEE 840 and a X2 4800+. ET says that the D 820 has somewhat anemic performances even if has a low price.

Chilean website newcomer Overclockers.CL checks the Athlon 64 Venice version. As grassroot overclockers, they push their baby to the maximum. They reach 2997MHz on an Athlon 3200+. Performance at this price is nothing to snif at. Chilean hardware also reviews a very old card, ye Radeon 9550 from Abit, the Turbo Guru. Why? They wanted to overclock that card to the maximum possible. They got a 567MHz/770Mhz (core, clock) which is indeed very high. The performance of the card under 3D Mark 03 nearly doubled to 4562. An overclocking monster indeed. Unfortunately, everything is in Spanish. Translator needed.

PCmoddingmy checks the DFI Lan Party nF4 Ultra-D review. Probably the best socket 939 motherboard in the world, the one which is used everywhere to overclock at crazy speeds. The board has a long list of features ranging from the dual GbE Lan to nVRAID etc. Almost a legendary item now. Will we see DFI launching a Performance SFF soon based on the Lanparty?

Firingsquad unlocks the Geforce 6800 to something even more powerful without spending a penny. They use a EVGA Geforce 6800 to do it, keeping in mind that it applies only to AGP versions. They did it quite easily with just a few mouse clicks. But guess what? Performance does not follow the unlocking. Boo.

Authorities in several countries raided Megaupload recently, shut down all of its services, seized hundreds of servers and arrested several of its executives on criminal charges.

Do you think the move was justified?
