Is anyone at home at AMD HQ?

They paved paradise, put up a parking lot
Sunday, 4 November 2007, 16:11

EN ROUTE TO the Computer History Museum in Mountain View we drove by AMD HQ in Sunnyvale. Found the place locked up like Folsom Prison or Fort Knox. Nobody was standing at the nearby bus stop to ask about Barcalona or the three Phenoms.

alt='shut'

The parking lot was empty. If my company was behind schedule with their salvation product, I would have the employees working overtime. Next we tried their side parking lot. The guard on duty inside this parking lot said “leave right now!” To which we obeyed for fears of him calling the powers that be on this scribbler..

alt='empty'

Being a diligent INQmind reporter we quickly checked on AMD's neighbour down the street. Fry's Electronics employees obviously showed up and found their parking lot.

Continuing the investigation we drove to the back of AMD HQ building. Found another overflow parking lot which was empty too However, next door there were two big tractors and a large dump truck moving dirt around what we remember was an AMD HQ parking lot.

Could this be one of those new fab buildings “just” for Barcalona? The building should be ready when the quad CPU ships sometime next year. µ

Lol,what a POS article..Oh wait,di i call this crap an article?Damn,gotta check my standards for evaluation.
Barcelona is shipping right now.Next year it will be mainstream chip with Shangai showing up in Q3.

Must be lonely and dull in inq HQ today,since you boys started pulling crap out of your rear ends(again).

PS They at least have a parking lot,which couldn't be said for the inq.

Creepy!

Have you looked closely enough at the windows? Here's a magnification:

Now THAT's the reason why there's noone working there anymore despite no major lay-offs lately!

I wonder what (who?) they are burying in the backyard before they put some houses as cover-up on it.... *shudder*

key AMD people are in Austin

The key AMD Barcelona people are in Austin, India, and Singapore. Only management is left in California.

Sunday?

What did you expect they are at Sunday?
Better you not be a boss, you would just overdrive your employees, for nothing.

Are U Kiddding?

Who u are?
Apparently, not any kind of professional journalist. Otherwise, you should have, at least, arranged your visit in advance.
How much you have been paid, directly or indirectly, by INTEL?

Inquirer is losing its feel

Such lame articles make us visit this website less often. Very unprofessional even for this website's standards.

Why would the lawyers be working on the silicon? Don't we all know that the work is done in Austin TX?

No sense of humor

Does it really take explaining with a Sunday byline? Thank you Inquirer, it is easy to take Mondays too seriously.
