Bosses phish off staff

Leave that alone
Mon May 21 2007, 07:54
IT DEPARTMENTS are trying to train staff by running fake phishing sites.

According to the Washington Post, companies are sending out e-mails that look like it's from a trustworthy group but asks for information that could lead to a security breach.

The big idea is that if an employee is dumb enough to fill in the details they need retraining before they do it for real.

Unfortunately it is proving a little too successful. In one company 30 percent of one company's 100 e-mail recipients took the bait within the first 20 minutes.

Apparently a nice picture of a cat is enough to get users to open practically anything.
