AGEIA TECHNOLOGIES has announced an End User Licence Agreement (EULA), which will allow its physics engine, the PhysX SDK to be used and its runtime components distributed commercially and otherwise, royalty free.

The EULA means that game developers, be they big name developers or working on smaller projects, will be able to use the PhysX engine with a no-fee licence.

CEO of AGEIA Technologies Manju Hedge said in a release: "Content is the name of the game and the real test of any technology is what people do with it. We've been amazed by some of the implementations we've seen in the past few months that are accelerated by the PhysX processor and are excited about bringing innumerable new projects to life."

The PhysX software supports a decent amount of PC and console platforms. As you may have gathered from the name of the brand, it's all about giving developers the ability to add detailed physics to their games - Including all those traditional video game staples, such as explosions, collisions, dense smoke and such like. µ
