Satellite tracking owners beware

CRACKERS HAVE WORKED OUT A WAY of wrecking a car's computer with a wireless virus, it is claimed.

Apparently, cars with systems such as satellite navigation have been warned to secure the devices, after reports that the on-board computers of several Lexus models in the United States had been infected.

More than 150,000 cars were infected by some sore of virus last week, according to a South African security outfit Shaya Technologies.

Most of the attacks appear to come through satellite navigation systems that were linked to hands-free phone kits, via wireless "Bluetush" technology.

A spokesman for Shaya warned car owners to disable Bluetooth connectivity when in your car. You can read more, if you must, here. ยต
