ATI prepares Counter Strike papers for Radeon 420XT

Voucher wars go multiplayer

THE VOUCHER WARS are brewing up nicely towards critical point, as the big red Canadian company that actually cares more about NDAs than anybody else is going to offer one more game voucher with its upcoming Radeon R420XT cards.

We all expect something for our money. And six million bucks is quite a wedge. But maybe those six millions haven't been wasted. Valve has to oblige ATI and assuage its lack of Half life 2 and inability to actually deliver its game anytime soon.

So prepare to receive Counter Strike 2 - or at least a piece of paper with that written on it.

I would rather label this a compromise than a nice deal, as people are just getting sick of waiting for Half Life 2. But ATI has to get some attention and deflect discussions from its lack of support for Shader Model 3.0.

A well-informed source let slip that a version of Counter Strike that will based at Half Life 2 is going to shipped with these new Radeons; not only the high-ends but apparently through the whole range, at least that's what we heard.

So, all you Counter strike lovers just get yourself a new Radeon 420XT, or slower, card and you will get your free Counter strike 2 game - um, eventually, when it comes. µ
