According to Business Week, CEO Mark Hurd is is not satisfied that enough people have been fired and outfit's operational and information technology costs are still too high.
Hurd has already culled more than 15,000 and overhauled the company's retirement plan. However at a meeting with analysts, Hurd made it clear that there is still more work to be done. He said HP was company transforming and not a company transformed.
Hurd thinks HP has too much property it spends too much on IT infrastructure. He also indicated that while some would lose their jobs he is planning to boost the numbers of his sales teams.
Apparently rumours that HP was thinking of buying Symantec are proving false. Hurd said HP's acquisition strategy will tend to focus on smaller companies.
