The esteemed gentlefolk of the press were from the Grauniad, Bloomberg, Business Week, ASP [what that? Ed.] and local rag the Austin American Statesman. They are described as "media representatives" which doesn't sound nearly as good as "grizzled old hacks". Next thing, the chip companies will be calling us "data gatherers".
The gentlemen hosting the call were CEO Hector J. Ruiz, and Thomas McCoy, chief pleader at the firm. They were further explaining the decision of the uroCommissars to call La Intella to the bar.
McCoy said that the case in Delaware which is sending everyone into the deepest of snoozes was "bogged down" because of Intel's "epidemic failure" in its ability to produce emails.
Hector refused to say how
much all this legal activity was costing AMD. He said that AMD expected them to be "in our lingo, significant." But
McCoy said that neither AMD nor Intel would talk about the legal expenses. That's, apparently, "not done" but yeah, it
is very expensive and no, there are no settlement talks going on.
Nor will AMD talk about what Intel's alleged behaviour has cost the firm in lost sales. Apart, that is, according to McCoy they've been "extraordinary".
No. The uroCommissars are looking at the "tens of billions" that consumers - that's people in our lingo - have forfeited by paying a "monopoly tax".
Sheesh. And double kebab with chips and curry sauce. µ
