INVESTORS decided to cash in and sold AMD stock today - the share price fell by 95 cents to stand at $30.84 at press time.

But Intel's price, although it only fell five cents on trading, went below $18 - at one point it was trading at $17.76 - a very American number.

Microsoft veered up and down like a fibrillating yoyo - right now its share price is $23.41, over 60 cents up on the day.

Rambus (tick: RMBS) was also down by nearly a dollar - the reason? Rambus is an irrational stock. That's the reason.

Hewlett Packard (tick: HPQ) showed gains on the day, at press time the share price is $32.31. The Great Satan of Hardware (tick: DELL) stands at $24.10. Gold brick company Google (tick: GOOG) was up by over four dollar, and trading at close to $380 last time we looked. µ
