Beak offers Rambus $133.6 million deal

Take the Hynix money and run?
Tue Jul 18 2006, 10:52
AN AMERICAN judge granted Hynix' wish for a review of a $307 million award to Rambus for breaching its intellectual property.

But if Rambus decides to pocket $133.6 million from Hynix instead, the damages won't need to be reconsidered, judge Ronald Whyte said.

Rambus (tick: RMBS) is reported to be considering whether to take the money and run.

The revised figure, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal, is a fair payment for royalties previously pocketed by Rambus in its continuing quest to litigate, litigate and litigate again. µ
