AMD drops former ATI HQ

AFTER AMD TOOK over ATI, bean counters begun to shave off surplus staff. Indeed, we heard of a lot of good people leaving the company. Not even top spinners were immune from the axe.

Streamlining the operation, or cutting enough people to afford those hefty bonuses is par for the course. But, now it seems the whole, once proud HQ of ATI Technolgies in Markhamm, Ontario has been cut from AMD's plans.

At least, we recently saw a document that shows an overview of AMD operations, and there is one very important address missing from the page: 1 Commerce Valley Drive East, Markham.

ATI Santa Clara - check. ATI Boston - check. ATI Markham... err?

So, whoever designed this piece of work, either knows what many AMD and former-ATI guys don't, or it's just another example of mix-ups that are happening in the company. We asked still-present top AMD spinner to clafify the official view. He stated the following: "No, we have no plans to shut down Markham.
