BILL GATES IS planning on showing off his soon-to-be new Windows products at the Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC), which starts in Seattle today. The conference is said to highlight new hardware, software and "industry opportunities" for the Windows platform.

Bill-gatesGates will be unveiling what Microsoft labels the future of Windows computing, alongside a Windows Home Concept PC which was developed with HP's help. The Windows Home Concept is a prototype featuring next gen hardware and software, apparently designed to deliver the "ultimate" entertainment and communication experience. Hmm, ok.

Also on show will be Windows 64-bit for AMD and Intel, which isn't scheduled for release until the 4th quarter, according to a statement from Microsoft. As well as Windows 64-bit for iAMD, Gates is promising to give people a glimpse of the Longhorn technology - the updated developer code for manufacturers should be on show, the statement added. µ
