Bundles of Athlons benchmarked

Daily Wibble
Thursday, 31 October 2002, 17:27
GERMAN SITE hardTecs U has a good long look at a bundle of AMD Athlon XP Thoroughbreds, taking in the 2200+, 2400+, 2600+, 2700+, the 2800+.

The original is here and the Googled translation over here.

The article includes benchmarks from all the chips listed, each running on an Asus A7V8X (VIA KT400) mobo, an Epox 8K3A+ (VIA KT333) mobo and, gasp, an Asus A7N8X (nVidia nForce2). These results they then put up against those extracted from a 2.8 GHz Pentium 4, running on both i845PE and i850E chipset boards. That should keep you busy for a while.

Elsewhere, pics of the colourful new Office 11 beta have tipped up over here at NewsBeta.com.

AMDZone wonders whether Apple really could be turned on by AMD's Hammer, over here.

Sudhian has a fiddle with Shuttle's SB51 XPC Small Form Factor PC over here.

While Tech Report stuffed a Radeon 9700, a half gig of Corsair memory, and a Pentium 4 2.8GHz into their Shuttle box to see how it moved them, they say here.

Lost Circuits reviews that ASUS P4S8X motherboard over here.

Neoseeker has a look at FIC's AT010 card, a funky implementation of ATi's Radeon 9700 PRO over here.

While Hothardware toys with the Siluro GeForce4 Ti4200 OTES, over here.

Hardwareanalysis has a blast with Creative Soundblaster Audigy2, over here.

And DeviantPC has released the second part of the Unreal Tournament 2003 mapping guide, cunningly entitled, they say, Part 2 over here.

You can nail the Wibbler here.
