ATI DECIDED to drop prices and become more competitive to Nvidia's Ge3force 7800 GT. The company cut the price of the X1800XL to €399 - fifty euro less than the suggested retail price at launch.

When it comes to volumes we learned that there is still no pressure on ATI as buyers are either waiting for flagship X1800XT card or just think that ATI's X1800XL is too expensive. Well, for €449 it was but €399 looks much better. You can buy this card in Germany here

It's still not enough to compete with the nice deals that Nvidia made with its 7800GT card. You can buy this card for as little as €329. It's a Gainward card and you can check it here.

In the UK, Radeon X1800XL cards are still around £305 for a card - that's around €450. Check them here. When it comes to Nvidia's offer you can get a 7800GT card for just £235 including VAT of course. Check it here.

Nvidia certainly has put some pressure on ATI but the good thing is that the latter firm has already made its cards more affordable. We believe it may drop prices even more and UK and the US will have to follow this trend. µ
