Vmware betas Windows Toolkit

Powershell to the people
Monday, 17 March 2008, 14:38

VMWARE HAS released Beta VI toolkit for Windows. You can download it here.

Vmware is offering 102 commands for Windows administrators who wish to automate tasks such as snapshots, server deployment from templates and VMware Tools upgrades. Although some Windows developers work in Perl, Vmware knows full well that the vast majority use Powershell.

Vmware has offered these commands in Perl for ages but feels it is time to allow Windows users into the party, albeit in public beta.

It has also set up a community web site where it hopes Windows users will share their own thoughts and scripts. Whatever next? ยต
