AMD goes researching and developing in China

Opens a sales office too
Tue Feb 05 2008, 14:27

GREEN-THEMED AMD has announced that it will open up a sales and R&D centre in Chengdu, China.

The announcement ends years of speculation as to which city in western China - Chengdu, Chongqing or Xian - Chimpzilla would select for a new marketing and research centre.

An AMD representative reportedly announced at a press conference that the company would first open a sales management office in the Wuhou District of Chengdu, where AMD supplies over 55 per cent of the net cafes and small computer parts shops.

AMD will later build its second largest R&D centre in China in Chengdu, the representative said. ยต

Is Intels Loss AMD Gain?

Intels TOP Shina Director left company as reported in theinquirer few weeks ago. Now AMD is opening up there, is fundumental difference in National Price Control board allowing this or did AMD Capture Intels Person? China is not exactly open market.

Shina Metal is #1 & all around US, so go figure. This change is good indication of FULL Recovery of AMD latter this Year & beyond.
