Shuttle outs X38 mini-monster

Overclocking in a shoebox
Wednesday, 10 October 2007, 10:33

NEVER ONE TO LET size matter, Shuttle has stepped up and released a new small form factor box based on the X38 chipset from Intel.

Arguably the new enthusiast's chipset of choice, X38 sports all the bells and whistles you'd expect including 1333MHz FSB and plenty of headroom for overclocking. Shuttle's new baby is called the XPC Prima SX38P2 Pro, and also loads in HD audio and a few eSATA ports.

Shuttle claims that the interior of the P2 chassis has been remodeled with a redesigned drive cage assembly for easier maintenance, which is certainly a welcome change.

The spec sheet also lists fingerprint recognition technology as a feature of the machine, but we're not quite sure what that will be designed to do. Shock you with electricity when you try to take the case off?

The machine should be out in the next few weeks, but there's no confirmed pricing yet. µ

Perhaps the new version will equipt with Autoself destruct PC. When someone can't confirm that he/she is the right user than the PC will perform autoself destuct sequence. But to make sure it safe for environment, let make autoself destruct ALA Mission Impossible, not Star Trek.
