The desktop computers sporting AMD's mighty tech are available as you read this, while the AMD64-powered notebooks should be up for grabs this April. It's an "important milestone" for China customers, says AMD, who now have the added pleasure of being able to pick AMD processor based systems over, well, the rest - from the nation's biggest manufacturer.
Karen Guo, the head honcho for AMD's operations in the Greater China region, said in a press release that both companies are absolutely committed to "fulfilling customers needs with innovative computer products and solutions." Innovation, solutions, blah blah. The announcement, if we are to believe one Karen Guo, marks a "shared committment" to improving China's growing IT industry, going on to mention that the AMD64 is certainly "an attractive choice for China."
TCL Computer is unsurprisingly excited about the prospect of profit, too: "TCL Computer is committed to bringing value to our customers, creating opportunities for our people, and helping to improve society." That little tidbit is courtesy of Mr. Yang Weiqiang, who wins this article's award for "most frustrating to type surname." "Our cooperation with AMD is the result of our commitment to responding to market needs," he said, before going on to talk about solutions and such. µ
