Loyal employee that [Paul] Engel was... - Tim Jackson, Inside Intel page 130
AN INTERWEB PORN company which runs thousands of sites that promise discrete content has been handing customer details to hackers.
Too Much Media, which is based in New Jersey, has acknowledged that hundreds of thousands of its customers' personal details could have been stolen.
Apparently, the hackers got hold of email addresses which means that customers are currently being bombarded with spam. A company spokesman, John Albright, confirmed that no credit card information was taken.
However Too Much Media has not exactly been forthcoming about the attack which happened in October.
Albright claimed that an investigation was underway to the cause and level of the security breach. But although it happened in October the company still has not worked out how it happened.
The hack was spotted by a web hosting outfit OC-3 Networks, which apparently hosts more than 40 per cent of adult sites.
A spokesmman told the LA Daily News , said that during a monthly security check it was noticed that the same IP address was repeatedly trying to access the company's software.
The company worked out that someone had accessed the user name and password assigned to the Too Much Media.
Albright said that Too Much Media will prosecute anyone responsible for any breach of its servers and programs.
However the breach has shocked the online adult industry. Online porn sites depend on anonymity and there are grave concerns when its services leave customers open to blackmail.
According to the Daily News there is a fear that there could be a backlash against such sites as people become frightened that they will be identified. µ
It seems to me, although I freely admit I could be wrong, that the people who subscribe to these sites are exactly the ones who would be interested in receiving email advertising hot (barely legal) cheerleaders, nasty horny co-eds, viagra and penis enlarging pills/devices.

'nuff said.
Ohh crap everyone is gona know i watch porn and everyone is gona know i have a foot fetish! Every male who has been on the internet for more than 1 hour has looked for porn and i'm sure even women stumble upon it at some point or another. No big news ..CC information is another story however lol
There is much better reporting on this over at icwt dot us, click on "Too Much Media" under "Companies and Brands" on the right hand side. Of course, that serves to reason since I was the one who broke the story and The LA Daily News stole my story without crediting me as the source.
