Rambus soars on FTC speculation

Up five bucks
Fri Nov 17 2006, 07:32
THE WILD MAN of IT stocks saw its share price rocket by a third yesterday on rumours the US Federal Trade Commission won't penalise Rambus too much for antitcompetitive behaviour.

The FTC is likely to say that it won't include DDR2 or DD3 in punishments it will hand down, according to a financial analyst, although how he knows this is rather unclear.

American Technology Research (AMR) is speculating on punishments the FTC will hand out in the next month or two.

Its share price rose by over five dollars yesterday on the speculation to close on NASDAQ at $21.72. µ
