Qimonda puts 1GB graphics memory into Asus board

CHIP FIRM QIMONDA said it has supplied 1GB GDDR3 memory for a graphics board from Asustek - the EN8800GT.

Qimond claimed it is the leading graphics memory supplier. It supplies eight pieces of DRAM to make up GDDR3 at 1GB, with a memory frequency of up to 1GHz.

The firm said it will start sampling GDDR5 in volume in the middle of next year. What happened to GDDR4? [Don't answer, Ed.] µ
