The quicker a phone's answered in sales, the slower it's answered in customer services - Brownridge's Law
According to Slashdot, the OLPC project now requires all submissions to be hosted in the RedHat Fedora project. While you might think that there is nothing to see here, move along please, this actually involves developers signing the Fedora Project Individual Contributor License Agreement.
This agreement means that all software automatically fallS under the provisions of US export law. So if the US doesn't like you then you can't have the One Laptop per Child.
So that rules out children in Cuba, Syria, North Korea and Iran taking part in the project. It is just as well that the OLPC biggest customer, Libya is everyone's chum at the moment - other than Bulgaria's. Otherwise the plastic toy would not have been able to be flogged there. Libya wants to shoot six Bulgarian medical staff who it claims infected children with AIDs infected blood before they got to the country. ยต
