Allisblue says how do you do, via SMS

Etre 2005 SMS2 email offers quick ad results
Sunday, 16 October 2005, 18:13
AS WELL AS having big beasts present big keynote presentations, Etre also gives little firms the chance to give people a 15 minute snap of what their products are and what they do.

The first one we knocked up against is Allisblue. This firm does SMS2mail which has tech which charges its advertisers for emails delivered. How does this work? Say you're down the tube, and there's an advert with a URL and you have a phone but can't go online. You just key in a number and when you next go online, you get an email delivering the information you want. Advertisers have a bridge between offline and online, it claims.

It costs one Euro to deliver an email doesn't cost the consumer anything and it's relatively cheap for advertisers. Allisblue assures us that while the advertiser knows a valid mail has been delivered, it doesn't get your email, so you won't be spammed in future. Ford and others are already experimenting with the technology.

The data belongs to the consumer, the tech is patented in Europe and there's patents pending in the USA. His business is worth a million Euro in Belgium.

It's started in other European countries too. It's looking for distributors and resellers. Who isn't? See this pic below? You spot the thing while you're travelling, SMS the number in the bottom right, which will cost you .15 of a Euro, and when you get home a link to the info you want and the URL is right there. Double bubble!
