SIX NEW VERSIONS of The INQUIRER appeared today on the Interweb.

Local language versions of your trusty INQ are now available in France, Germany, Holland, Italy, Spain and Belgium.

From a bunker in Harrow, Mike Magee, founder of The INQUIRER, said the European roll-out "will allow us to further expand our coverage significantly and give us the ability to share our common resources and top reporting skills across Europe."

Publisher VNU, which acquired the INQ earlier this year said it aimed to build on the success of its popular gadget Blog Gizmodo, which has been similarly lauched in localised versions across seven territories in Europe.

As well as translating UK content, European writers will add relevant local content to the site, carefully following the spirit and editorial voice of the UK original, VNU said.

Translators are still being sought to convert The INQUIRER'S current output into English.
