R600 has new super dooper cooler

ATI is about to refresh its graphic line with a GDDR 4 supporting Radeon X1950 XTX card but it also plans to refresh its top end line with a new R600.

If all goes well, the chip should see the light of day before the end of the day, but things can easily slip in this business.

The new 80 nanometre chip will dissipate a lot of heat and ATI will make a new even better cooler to cool it down. We know it will be even more advanced and efficient than the previous R580 and R580+ cooler. It has to be even better than the Arctic Cooler to tame this beast.

Nvidia has very efficient cooler for its 7900 GTX card and it does the job well but the green company might even introduce the new cooler for its new G80 card. µ
