In a press release today, Corsair announced that Team Dignitas will be handling online registration for sixty-four teams from any of fourteen countries in their BattleField 2 tournament.
The value of all the prizes will add up to over $5,000 US, but then the each team of four players will have to split their swag, which is mostly Corsair memory and will only cost Corsair a fraction of the "value." But that doens't really matter, since it's about the recognition and publicity that Corsair... I mean, the players will receive from the tournament, not what prizes will be awarded.
Richard Hashim, Director of Product Marketing at Corsair Memory, even admitted, "Hosting the Corsair titled tournament complements our ongoing grass root marketing efforts."
The cost-effective publicity stunt will start on December 29th and run for forty-eight hours, and prizes will go to the top three teams (four players each) and to the four most sporting players from the tournament as a whole. Winners will be announced the next day.
