Spokesman lied to me shock accusation

A WOMAN is suing Yahoo afor $3 million claiming that the web portal, content and search-engine company has failed to remove naked pictures of her when she asked.

Cecilia Barnes, 48, claims that her former boyfriend began posting naked pictures of her in Yahoo! Profiles. Apparently the pictures were taken without her knowledge and posted to Yahoo chatrooms.

She says that she learnt about the postings when men began contacting her at work or even showing up expecting a liaison.

Barnes says that Yahoo ignored her letters, but in March she spoke to a Yahoo! Spinner, namely Mary Osako, Yahoo's director of communications, who told her that the profiles would be removed.

The reason this promise is a bit crucial is that under US law, internet companies are broadly protected from being sued over information that is published by third parties.

So, Barnes's brief is going for a breach of promise suit against Osako. More here.
