Corsair lukewarm on cooling

Memory Dominating
Wednesday, 11 July 2007, 09:36
RUMOUR HAS it that top memory maker Corsair is shelving its range of watercooling gear in the wake of poor sales.

Thus sayeth these boys, who claim that there are no new cooling products in development either for air-based or water-based cooling.

The Nautilus range got off to a slow start for the firm, with some major design issues in early hardware, but the latest iteration - the Nautilus 500 - was quite rightly hailed by many hardware review sites as one of the handiest, easiest external WC systems to use. Corsair even had Nvidia SLI waterblocks, which were undoubtedly sexy stuff.

But it seems that it isn't to be. Cooling design isn't really at the heart of Corsair's expertise, except when it comes to cooling memory ICs, which the company can manage rather well thankyouverymuch. Stay tuned, then, for some cool new memory products to hit the shelves before Christmas, we suspect. DDR3 is swiftly anticipating its day at the races. ยต
