A-very-merry-yuletide-to-all-our-friends-worldwide-from-chipzilla-com OUR THANKS to those in the northern hemisphere who have drawn our attention to this piece of Yuletide tom-foolery at BB Spot:

Santa considering move to Linux

There's lots wrong with this story, but mostly the idea that penguins will leave their haven in the southern hemisphere to help shamanistic Santa Claus in his gnomish workshops.

If they did that, they'd be walking over the graves of their cousins, the flightless Great Auk, or pinguinis impennis which sadly became extinct in 1844 because the buggers couldn't fly, and some crazed monkies thought they tasted nice.

ici la.

The Newfies seem to have put paid to loads of cod, as well...

Luckily there's sheep on the Malvinas/Falkland Islands, so the southern penguins are still flapping about a bit... µ
