Vertical mouse runs up the screen

New ergonomic point and click
Tuesday, 26 June 2007, 08:15
AN ergonomic mouse which stands vertically on the desk has just been released to run around desks everywhere.

Evoluent's Vertical Mouse 3 was designed with help of boffins from the University of California at Berkeley and it will be on sale for its students.

Unlike other mice, Evoluent's Vertical Mouse 3 stands vertical and the hand is put into a handshake position where the arm is in 90-degrees form from the tabletop.

Evoluent says that this is the most natural position for the hand to be in and it reduces a magnitude of stress from your hand, wrist and arm. It would also explain why holding a pint glass is so ergonomically satisfying.

There are five programmable buttons on the mouse so that you end up using your entire hand for more things. You could uses the thumb to hit the control alt button so you can do all those stupid control functions a bit quicker. The scroll wheel is available too.

For $80 it looks like good value. There is a full review here. ยต
