Wii for rappers and hip hoppers revealed

Hardware Roundup Watch a historic movie online
Wednesday, 11 April 2007, 02:12
WITH MAINSTREAM DIRECTX 10 offerings from Graphzilla arriving next week, GeForce 8800GTS will no longer be the entry point for upcoming DX10 games. Legion Hardware took a look at GeForce 8800GTS in both available models, the 320MB one and the original 640MB and put them through paces. We tend to agree with guys judgment on the products, since we have recently received GeForce 8800GTS 320MB from LeadTek. Our model is overclockable like there is no tomorrow - expect a hot review coming out very soon.

Shamino continued to raise temperature in Satan Clara, hoping to equalise the temperature difference between Nvidia's HQ and his native Singapore. Reason for same temperature between West Coast and Asia is his continuous exploration into 8600GTS gaming performance, board scheduled for a debut next week. We will be bringing our view of the card at usual INQ pace, 5min ahead of the world. But we will not use 101.02 drivers or odd clocks, rather something fresher. We will also feature a DX10 benchmark inside our article, so stay tuned.

Finnish people from Metku.Net continue to draw attention. After their Z-5500 speakers became Logiwood, Nintendo Wii got a chrome treatment thanks to XCM I-CASE replacement case. A must read.

BootDaily tested Samsung's 7.5 Mpixel camera. With a huge lens, this just might be the ticket for great holiday photos. To stay in touch with PC world, Duane reviewed Gigabyte's micro-ATX board for Core 2 processors. This could be one potent product for a gaming HTPC.

XS Reviews continued to test power supplies, and this time Chill Innovation 520W Super Silent came under scrutiny. We have not heard about this Danish manufacturer prior to this article, but allegedly they are creating and manufacturing most affordable high-end power supplies.

At the same time, Scott from Bjorn3D tested NZXT Precise PRC-1000 power supply. Yes, you have guessed right - this is another PSU rated at 1KW, taken from a high end perspective...

Hardware.Info got down and dirty with three hard drives: 500GB drives from Seagate in the form of enterprise-ready Barracuda ES 500GB and desktop warrior Barracuda 7200.10. Third in line was Western Digital Caviar SE 320 GB.

This Hardware Roundup could not pass without at least one review of system memory, and this time Virtual-Hideout took care of the system memory part with the review of hybrid water/air-cooled memory from OCZ, the Flex XLC PC2-6400.

Phoronix reviewed OCZ Trifecta Secure Digital card with 1GB capacity. This card is called Trifecta for a valid reason: it is actually a Secure Digital and microSD card with USB 2.0 port built in. Just don't loose it, this thing is small.

Thomas from DVhardware.net tested a member of pantagana gamicus species named Revoltec's FightMouse Advanced.

All this hardware is nothing without software. We would advise you to take a look into one less violent game, a sports game in fact. YouGamers tested Virtua Tennis 3, which reminded yours truly about good times when couple of people would gather around a same computer (often Amiga) and play tournaments in Lotus Challenge, Virtua Tennis and many other games...

V-MODA Vibe Red Roxx earhphones may come with a very weird and not understandable name, but Legit reviews swears these ear pieces are better than many great brands out there, and after seeing how they look, we may tend to agree with their judgement. They cost as a iPod nano, but hey, nothing good is cheap.

Finally, we had to bring you the movie that speaks about the very beginnings of Silicon Valley and early rivalry between Steve Jobs and Bill Gates. While this motion picture is not entirely accurate (which one is?) it was fun ro see Steve Jobs open a Macworld 1999 with Noah Wyle filling Jobs' shoes. The movie's name is Pirates of Silicon Valley, in case you didn't get it. Enjoy.
