The enemy (Intel) is making offers people can't refuse - AMD's Jerry Sanders III
Corel got its bottom supremely spanked when it tried to take on Vole in the operating system arena and has only just recovered.
Now according to the Globe and Mail, it has its sights set on the world's leading internet giant, Google.
Going for it, Corel has a nice collection of graphics, digital imaging and productivity software. Today it even announced launched new software for managing digital photos and video.
One version of Snapfire, which lets users organise, edit and share their images, will be given away free and another called Snapfire Plus will set you back $40.
However, it is up against Google's Picasa software, which is a popular free tool for organising and sharing pictures. It also has competition from Yahoo Photos, which lets users store images on Yahoo servers, share them with friends and order prints online.
A spokesCorel said that the outfit was very confident that it had a competitive product against the Microsofts and Googles of the world.
Nice to see such optimism in this cynical world. More here.
